Zarina
A beautifully aged rare handwoven Qashqai rug featuring a rich deep red field layered with intricate tribal motifs, bold geometric medallions and softly faded tonal variation throughout. Woven by Qashqai nomadic weavers in the Shiraz region of southern Iran, this piece carries that unmistakable balance of raw tribal energy and refined craftsmanship that makes antique Qashqai rugs so sought after.
The saturated crimson and oxblood tones are contrasted with deep navy, warm ivory and touches of rust, giving the rug incredible depth and warmth. Three striking central medallions anchor the composition, surrounded by scattered symbolic motifs and densely woven geometric detail that feels almost graphic up close. The stepped ivory border sharpens the whole design and gives it a bold, architectural feel that works beautifully in contemporary spaces.
There’s a moodiness to this rug that feels especially current, rich colour, heavy pattern and that perfectly timeworn piece that softens the intensity just enough. Small areas of sun fading across the field add movement and dimension, giving the piece an effortlessly collected, lived-in look that new rugs simply can’t replicate.
Handwoven from wool with naturally aged dyes, it has a beautifully soft handle and a durable low pile developed through decades of use. Full of texture, character and depth, this is the kind of rug that completely grounds a room.
In great vintage condition, with some visible sun fading and age-related wear consistent with its history, adding beautifully to its overall character and authenticity. No holes or structural damage. Professionally cleaned and ready for its next home.
