There's no playing it subtle with this one! A beautifully bold vintage Persian Meymeh rug, absolutely bursting with rich crimson reds, deep indigo blues, warm burgundy and little flashes of ivory, turquoise, olive green and soft coral. A proper jewel of a rug, with an incredibly intricate design and enough colour and character to bring a whole room to life.

At the centre sits a striking geometric medallion in creamy ivory, divided into four beautifully detailed sections filled with tiny floral motifs in navy, red and muted earthy tones. Its angular, almost architectural shape creates a wonderful contrast against the rich red ground, giving the whole design a strong graphic quality.

The surrounding field is absolutely packed with little geometric flowers, stylised leaves and intricate botanical motifs, scattered across that gorgeous crimson background. Look closely and you'll spot all sorts of tiny details in dusty blue, olive, soft pink and ivory, each adding another layer of colour and texture to the design.

The elaborate borders are just as lovely, with repeating geometric and floral motifs set against deep indigo and creamy ivory. There's something particularly striking about the contrast between the bold red centre and those lighter outer borders, which frame the whole composition beautifully.

Despite its traditional roots, there's something wonderfully contemporary about this one. The saturated reds, graphic medallion and almost pixel-like floral details give it a slightly retro, '70s feel. A proper belter alongside mid-century furniture, dark woods, black leather, chrome or more minimal interiors where all that colour can really do its thing.

Originating from the Meymeh region of central Iran, these rugs are known for combining bold geometric structure with intricate decorative detail. Handwoven in wool, this piece has a beautifully substantial feel, with a dense pile and the wonderfully individual character that makes vintage Persian rugs so special.

Rich, graphic and just the right side of dramatic. A proper statement rug that doesn't need to shout to make an impression, although she's certainly not shy!

In lovely vintage condition, with some gentle age-related wear and subtle variations in the pile, all part of its character. Professionally cleaned and ready for its next home.
