A beautifully handwoven vintage Turkish Kayseri rug, centred around an incredible oversized dusty maroon floral medallion that almost looks like a giant blooming flower. Set against a warm creamy ivory field and surrounded by an abundance of delicate flowers, leaves and curling botanical motifs, this one is wonderfully romantic without feeling overly traditional.

The palette is particularly lovely, and features maroon, dusty rose, raspberry, faded burgundy, soft olive, pistachio green, powder blue, warm gold and creamy ivory, with darker accents running throughout the detailed floral work. The combination gives it a slightly faded, almost tapestry-like quality that feels surprisingly fresh alongside contemporary furniture.

Kayseri rugs are known for their fine weaving and intricate floral designs, and there's an incredible amount going on here when you look closely. The oversized central motif gives the rug a bold graphic quality from a distance, while up close it's packed with tiny blossoms, scrolling vines, paisley-like forms and beautifully detailed borders.

Handwoven in wool on a cotton foundation, the pile has softened beautifully with age, giving the colours that lovely mellowed vintage finish. It's the sort of piece that works brilliantly with mid-century furniture, chrome, dark woods and clean contemporary interiors, a proper old-meets-new rug.

In excellent vintage condition, with no holes or tears. Professionally cleaned and ready for its next home.
