Super playful handwoven Moroccan rug featuring a rich olive green ground scattered with abstract motifs in raspberry pink, soft blush, warm cream and pops of mustard yellow.

The design has an almost folk-art quality to it, with irregular geometric forms, little floating shapes and larger abstract motifs woven across the centre. Nothing is overly symmetrical or polished, giving the whole rug a wonderfully free-form, hand-drawn feel. The flashes of pink and yellow really pop against the earthy olive background and make this one feel joyful without being overly bright.

There’s something brilliantly retro and mid-century about the colour combination, while the loose, expressive pattern keeps it rooted in the character and individuality of traditional Moroccan handweaving. It’s unusual, slightly bizarre and absolutely full of personality.

Handwoven in Morocco using thick wool, the rug has a wonderfully plush, tactile pile and a luxurious softness underfoot. At 210 × 363cm, it’s a fantastic large statement size for a living room or bedroom, with enough presence to properly anchor a space.

The earthy olive makes it surprisingly easy to style despite all that personality. It would look gorgeous alongside warm woods, dark leather, chrome, stainless steel and vintage furniture, or against a more neutral interior where those little flashes of pink and yellow can really do their thing.
