A gorgeous vintage Persian Shiraz rug with a seriously rich colour palette of deep crimson red, navy blue, plum brown, inky black, forest green, flashes of burnt orange and crisp ivory. Bold, graphic and packed with character, this is exactly the kind of tribal Persian rug that can completely transform a room.

Three large stepped diamond medallions run through the centre of the rug, sitting against a densely patterned red field scattered with tiny geometric and floral motifs. The darker medallions create loads of contrast, while the jagged ivory outlines and graphic border give the whole design an almost punky edge.

There’s something wonderfully raw and expressive about Shiraz rugs. The patterns aren’t overly polished or formal, and that slightly irregular quality is a huge part of their charm.
