Nikan
A richly detailed handwoven Persian Bakhtiari rug, featuring a classic panelled “garden” design made up of intricate squares, each filled with floral and tree motifs. Set against a deeper red ground with tones of navy, soft ivory, blush pink and warm brown, this piece has a more moody, time-worn feel with plenty of depth and character.
Woven in western Iran, Bakhtiari rugs are known for their distinctive compartmental layouts and expressive, nature-inspired patterns, each section telling its own small story while coming together as a balanced whole.
Crafted from wool and naturally dyed, this piece has a thick, weighty pile and a soft, durable handle, made to be lived with and enjoyed every day.
In good vintage condition, with no holes or tears. There is visible wear and areas of fading throughout, adding to its character and lived-in feel. The fringe has been reinforced with a discreet leather backing for added strength and longevity. Professionally cleaned and ready for its next chapter.
